Reserves Description: A Valuable Market Resource Lake Point Restoration's mineral holdings represent arguably the best source of certified, high quality shell rock outside of the Lake Belt mining region in South Florida. The property is permitted to mine up to 20 feet below the controlled water table. The proven reserve estimated to contain over 60 million tons of aggregate reserves. Three primary types of materials are currently being produced at the property:
1) Road Rock (Certified 913A Shell Rock Base) Road rock or (base rock) is used primarily in road construction, and is Lake Points highest volume product. The Road Rock is certified to the standards of the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) 913A Shell Rock. Lake Point is the only mine in Martin County to Produce FDOT certified road rock. Lake Point's primary crusher can produce up to 1,000 tons per hour of finished product. Lake Point typically has 40,000 to 75,000 tons in inventory of certified finished product ready for sale. 2) Coarse Aggregates 57/89/1/4/5 Stone The site produces a variety of sized aggregates including 57 stone and 89 stone. These stones are used in cement, asphalt plants, drainage fields and embankments. This stone is white or gray in color and is sized to ASSHTO specifics. 3) "RIP RAP" The quarry is currently producing "rip rap" of various sizes, usually between 6"-36". Rip Rap is rock used to protect shorelines against water erosion. Rip Rap reduces water erosion by resisting the hydraulic attack and dissipating the energy of flowing water or waves. It is the primary material utilized in creating breakwaters on lakes, rivers, and ocean front harborages, docks, and commercial/residential construction.
